It was Jesus' deity that made his humanity of infinite importance. This book is about the humanity of Jesus. But such a book makes sense, and is possible only because He was divine. Our salvation depends on both the divinity and humanity; this salvation hands on His humanity precisely because He was divine. All He did for us as a Man was effectual only because He was God. All He did for us as a Man was accpetable to His Father because He was God, and thus could offer, as our Substitute, a perfect life and an unflawed sacrifice
